HARU

Our story

Whisked in Amsterdam, rooted in Uji.

HARU began with a simple frustration: most matcha reaching Europe was stale, blended, and bitter. We wanted the bright, vivid bowl we'd tasted in Kyoto — so we went straight to the source.

STORY — farmer in the tea field, Uji

Direct-trade, single-farm.

We work with a small circle of growers in Uji — the region that has defined Japanese tea for eight centuries. No brokers, no blending down. We pay fairly, buy by the harvest, and stamp every pouch with the date it was milled.

Then we ship it cold and fast from Amsterdam, so the matcha in your bowl tastes the way it did on the hillside.

“Freshness is the whole point. Matcha is a living, perishable thing — and we treat it like one.”
